Hi everyone,

I'm facing a bit of a situation here and would appreciate some help from the experts.

I received a unit that was BIOS password protected. Unfortunately, during the initial dump, there was a verification error that I didn't catch in time, resulting in a corrupted original file. I tried flashing another BIOS chip with a different dump, but the device is now a "no power/no display" state.

Fortunately, I have an identical unit (same model, same motherboard version/revision) and I have just performed a verified backup of its working BIOS.

I need help with two things on this working dump:

  1. Clean ME Region: To ensure compatibility and avoid initialization delays or shutdown issues.
  2. Disable BootGuard: If possible, to allow the modified BIOS to run without signature issues.
I have attached the working dump from the twin machine below.

Thanks in advance for any help! And a friendly reminder to everyone: always double-check your verify logs before erasing the chip!

Hi everyone,

I’m still struggling to get this board working. After flashing the donor BIOS with Clean ME, the behavior has changed but it's still not posting.

Current symptoms:The power LED stays on for a while, then it blinks (the system seems to reset), and it stays on again, repeating this cycle indefinitely. There is no image on the screen.

I have recorded a video showing this behavior and attached it to this post.

I suspect that since the BootGuard is likely enabled (Profile 4 or 5), the PCH is rejecting the donor BIOS because of a hash mismatch or missing hardware-specific keys in the TXE/ME region.
