Hello folks, laptop came in with no display, previous tech flashed both EC chip (one next to the CPU) and the Main bios chip (next to the battery connector. no backup was made.

With what I've done (using files obtained from online to reflash the EC), I've managed to get functions back on the buttons, charge light and fans, fans spins at high speed. Still no POST

EC chip: WINBOND 25Q16JWNIQ (Next to the CPU)

unfortunately thats what i got off the chip, i guess the previous tech put in the wrong files, ive managed to extract some files from HP, i will attach thoes incase they come of use.

What are the results when you use it?

black screen, but all functions work such as; power button, charge lights, i verified all voltage rails present and fans spin (starts slow then spins at high speed)

Tried all the recommended bios files, unfortunately no difference. the caps light blinks 3 fast and 2 slow but ive tried other ram and verified all other hardware.
symptoms: fan starts slow and speed up to the max, black screen
What works: power button, charge light, fans, voltages present.

Could it be an issue on the oher chip? WINBOND 25Q16JWNIQ (Next to the CPU)- i believe this is the EC chip? or maybe i need a clean bios file?

Nb: I notice another Winbond chip on the far side closer to the USB ports etc

Oh okay, so one of these files you tagged should've worked?.


i got the main bios original dump, previous tech mistakenly flashed the EC chip without backup. (i will attach said Bin)

Questions:
1. can the affected EC chip cause booting issue if the main bios doesnt match?
2. is there a way to repair original main bios dumb and posssibly extract EC configurations?

The laptop has no BIOS error, why fix the bios?
