I have same problem with my Y900 after bios update... tried ec+bios combo on this page but did not work. Here are both dups from my chips. The board is the same as previous poster: NM-A571 Rev. 1.0
Possible to repair?

I don't understand where the 8MB file comes from, I see only 128KB of data
Can you send me the 8MB chip location picture?

It is U16... the read is good, tested twice

but no problem, only need data right, all power full ? is ok

The chip had flux on it and it was soldered not straight... So maybe different chip, i bought a non working laptop... Fans spin for 1 sec, power led on.. 3v3, 5v etc ok... But no boot. The seller said he updated bios and laptop did not boot any more.

hardware can also fail at any time, try adding BIOS and checking all the hardware?
