It would be much better if people ask you for files, that you let them know if you have the files, or not. So you don't start a discussion.

that's not correct. A lot of times we users ask you for a file which is not atteched, because you don't update everything. Schematics and boardviews are an example, a lot of times you don't have them right away, and after someone asked, than you upload it. I also got EC files from you, which in first place where not atteched.
