Hello,

I have an MSI GF75 Thin 10SCXR-282FR, motherboard MS-17F4 / MS-17F41 Rev 1.0.

History: the laptop had random shutdowns (overheating). Thermal paste was replaced with an unsuitable substitute, then it stopped booting and power kept cutting off. After repeated power-button presses, the chipset (PCH) burnt - there was a burning smell and the metal frame popped off. The bare die is now visibly cracked with black burn marks.

The CPU and dGPU are under the copper heatsink and were not directly affected, so I am hoping they are still OK.

My questions:
1. Roughly how much would a PCH replacement/reball cost on this board?
2. Is it worth repairing, or is the board likely damaged beyond economical repair?
3. If any of you offer mail-in service, what is the procedure?

I can add multimeter measurements or photos if useful.

Thanks!
