Hi guys, I’m new to the forum and I need some help. I’ve got an iMac 21.5" 2017, board 820-01069-B, and I’m having a weird issue. Sometimes (usually when it’s been powered off or unplugged for a while), the Mac won’t boot — it gets stuck halfway on the Apple logo. After restarting it 1 or 2 times, it boots normally.
The machine has an SSD and works fine once it starts, so I’m suspecting the BIOS might be corrupted. I already replaced the logic board battery, but the problem is still the same.
I tried flashing other BIOS files I downloaded f
rom this thread, but none of them worked. They don’t even play the startup chime, and either the iMac doesn’t turn on at all or it freezes halfway on the Apple logo and never fully boots.
The only way it starts is with the original BIOS file. Is there any way someone can help me check the file,
repair it, or rebuild it? Thanks for your help. I’m attaching my BIOS .bin file.
