I have a laptop, Dell Inspiron gaming Motherboard model BCV00 LA-D991P.
This laptop turns on without issue, but the battery discharges even when its connected. I've tried other batteries and chargers as well, with no luck, the battery keeps discharging or, in the best scenario, simply wont charge.
I Got the schematic and the diagram from here, but when I try to understand which component could be the faulty one, I realized that I really dont know how the charging/discharging process of a battery works in a laptop.
This laptop has 11 pins,
1-3 : Batt+ (0V charger only, 11.4V battery installed)
4 : CLK_SMB (3.3 V)
5 : DAT_SMB (3.3 V)
6 : BATT_PRS# (3.3V charger only, 0V battery installed)
7 : SYS_PRS / GND (0V)
8 : Not connected (0V)
9-11 : GND (0V)
My first tough was That the battery is charged through pin 1-3, so I should find a way to injeck voltaje on those pins, but since the VIN and VBATT lines does not touch, I suppose thats not the case.
Later, I think that BATT_PRS# tells the BQ24780SRUY IC (PU300) that the battery is installed by putting 0V on pin 6 and, in that moment, the voltage must enter the battery on pin 5, but maybe 3.3V is too low. So, now I'm lost. Any help could be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanxce.
