I’d like to know if it’s possible, at the BIOS/firmware level, to modify the CPU fan curves for fan 1 and fan 2 (this PC has two CPU fans). The default curve is extremely aggressive and the system becomes very noisy for no real reason.

Based on my testing, it doesn’t seem necessary for the fans to ramp up that hard even at 80°C. At around 50% fan speed, cooling is already more than enough, while noise levels stay reasonable.

So basically, I’m looking for a way to make the fan behavior less aggressive and quieter through BIOS or firmware modifications.

The original cause is simply the factory fan curve being too aggressive.

The system ramps both CPU fans up very hard even under moderate temperatures, which creates unnecessary noise. From my testing, the cooling performance is already sufficient at much lower fan speeds.

For example, even around 80°C, the fans do not need to run near maximum speed to maintain stable temperatures. At roughly 50% speed, thermals are still acceptable while noise is dramatically lower.

That’s why I’m interested in modifying the BIOS/EC firmware fan curve behavior.
Can you determine the original cause?
