I have an ASUS N551JM mainboard that runs well off the DC charger but does not charge the battery.
Oh yes. That has been done. With PSU 19v dc input verified: Pin 1+3 = 3.00v Pin 1+4=3.28v Pin 1+5=3.28v Pin 1+6=0 Pin1+7=0v Pin1+8=2.41v Pin 1+9=2.41. Is Pin 6 or 7 supposed to be +v also or 0? New battery and 2 different AC/DC PSU... Brand name ASUS also. 2 lead input (center positive)...- Jim Henderson
