All .BIN is BIOS
Thanks, but I meant what actual physical component is the BIOS chip? The motherboard label for it?
Long story short, someone hotswapped the ram on my machine and it only lights for a second and shuts off. There is no short, there is no powerline missing, and there is no other fried component that I can find, so I am guessing I need to replace the bios chip. I don't have the money to buy a new machine or motherboard so any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm using this as a learning opportunity for myself to learn about motherboard design so please excuse any stupid or experience-lacking thing I say!
