it use two BIOS ? or you backup error
I have that bios that came with recovery issue. I have tried to do recovery and it say unexpected error accured so i have replaced the SSd and durring the progress still gives that error so i dont know if it has to do anything with bios maybe you can advise?

Can you help sorting why hard drive is not getting formatted or installation of Google software doesn't work
I can't tell, need to test it directly on the laptop, if you have doubts because of the BIOS, you can try another BIOS to compare, I don't have much experience with Chromebooks
