It's not a hardware problem. First the laptop did not boot at all (no image on screen). We flashed your BIOS and now it turns on and shows HP screen but is stuck with the message "Your system is applying a critical update". This is a loop, so it turns off and reboots with the same error...

Thank you so much! Display is showing, system is rebooting/looping "applying critical system update" which explains the behavior. Possible that Google or HP pushed an update that bricked something.

Got an HP Chromebook 14c-cc0735nd in the shop, no image, hardware seems allright. Can anyone spot anything in the BIOS dump? Also can't find the correct Intel FIT version and clean images, no BIOS on HP site. MB code : CIRCINUS MB 203045-1 Serial: 8CG1181D8Y

Dude, did you realise how helpful your comment is? You deserve a dozen of thumbs. Somebody knocked off this switch on my board and I almost gave up on trying different BIOS. This is DEFINITELY one thing to keep in mind when you work on such boards. Thanks!

I know, but this is the BIOS I have extracted from the chip. BIOS already was damaged, but I can see ME is (looks) still in tact. Could you build another BIOS with this ME?

Hi Thien, could you help me? Customer brought in this laptop telling that it had a failed BIOS update. I tried several dumps but none of them are working, all giving a blinking capslock light. Probably has to do with the ME region which I did not transfer properly but I'm not good with these...

Ugh. Same problem here. Tried a BIOS flash hoping it would also update the kbc firmware. It updates the EC but not the keyboard controller. Why is Lenovo using a separate keyboard controller here anyway? :-( No idea what to do now. Can't give it back to customer telling that the keyboard does...
